Countryside, IL – A bold daylight burglary at a Justice cemetery escalates into a cross-state identity theft spree, with the Countryside Police Department currently spearheading a bi-state investigation. Last week, unsuspecting mourners became the latest victims of identity theft after their vehicle was broken into and credit cards were stolen.

The stolen cards were promptly used at a Countryside Best Buy, where over $2,600 in electronics were fraudulently charged. The crime, captured on store surveillance, features two male suspects, with the footage revealing distinct descriptions for each. One suspect is described as a male approximately 40-50 years old, wearing a green jacket and black hat. The second suspect is also a male in the same age range. The subsequent use of advanced License Plate Recognition technology led to the recovery of the associated vehicle in Merrillville, Indiana, signaling a significant expansion of the crime’s footprint.

This case has prompted an urgent call to action from local authorities, who have impounded the vehicle and are in the process of obtaining a search warrant to further the investigation. The police are appealing to the public for any information that might aid in the swift resolution of this audacious crime that has left the community on high alert.
