Crittenden County, AR – Arkansas State Police are asking for the public’s help after a deadly hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a Marked Tree teenager along Interstate 40 last week.

According to the Arkansas State Police, the incident occurred Friday, October 10, 2025, between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. near the 262-mile marker on I-40, just east of the Earle exit in Crittenden County. Investigators say 18-year-old Jacob Allen Marquis was killed in the collision.

Authorities have not released details about the vehicle involved but said the driver left the scene before officers arrived. The agency’s Criminal Investigation Division is now leading the case and urging anyone with information to come forward.

“Any tip, no matter how small, could help bring answers to the victim’s family,” officials said in a statement. Those with information are asked to contact ASP Troop D Headquarters at (870) 970-6082.

The investigation remains ongoing as troopers work to locate the suspect vehicle and determine the events leading to the fatal crash.
