Litchfield, CT – A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Litchfield County, Connecticut, as critical fire weather conditions are expected Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The National Weather Service warns that any fires that develop could spread rapidly.

Winds from the southwest will blow at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph, and relative humidity will drop as low as 35%. These conditions, combined with warm temperatures reaching up to 74°F, create an environment in which fires may ignite and spread out of control.

The National Weather Service strongly advises against outdoor burning during the warning period. Fire officials urge residents to exercise caution with any potential ignition sources and to stay updated on fire prevention measures. Local authorities are prepared for rapid responses if any fires develop under these dangerous conditions.
