Crestwood, IL – The Crestwood Police Department is investigating two suspicious incidents involving children. The first incident occurred on Saturday, sometime before 4:00 p.m., on 137th Street near LaVergne. A female juvenile was walking her dog westbound on 137th Street. As the girl walked past a male Hispanic individual walking eastbound, he turned and grabbed her by the shoulders. The girl escaped and ran to her residence to report the incident.
According to the Crestwood Police Department, the second incident took place on Monday, between 9:17 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. A female juvenile was walking southbound on Long Avenue from 135th Street to 137th Street. While the girl was walking, a silver car traveling northbound on Long Avenue approached her. The Hispanic driver attempted to talk to the girl and then turned the car around, pulling up beside her. The driver opened the door as if to exit the vehicle. The girl ran to her residence and reported the incident.
Crestwood detectives have been canvassing neighborhoods and seeking additional information. They are asking residents with surveillance systems to check footage around the times of the incidents for any relevant evidence.
