Crestwood, IL – Police arrested an individual January 25th linked to a widespread mail theft operation. 

According to the police reports, the arrest followed an investigation into numerous reports of stolen mail from Crestwood and nearby areas on the night of January 24th. The suspect is believed to be part of a larger group targeting mailboxes, primarily for financial documents like credit and debit cards, and checks.

Residents who suspect their mail might have contained sensitive financial information are advised to contact their banks or financial institutions immediately to protect their accounts. Additionally, those expecting bills or tax documents should reach out to the respective mailing agencies for replacements. Crestwood Police recommend that residents concerned about potential identity theft contact all three credit bureaus to secure their credit information.
