Oakland, PA – The Craig Street summer sale begins tomorrow at 10 a.m. and continues through the weekend in North Oakland.

Customers can expect discounts, specials, and deals from their favorite shops along Craig Street. The corridor runs between Fifth and Forbes avenues and includes businesses such as Caliban Book Shop, Irish Design Center, Phantom of the Attic games and comics, Karen’s Book Row, and the Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History gift shops.

Confirmed participants include Caliban Book Shop, Irish Design Center, Karen’s Book Row, Phantom of the Attic Comics, and What’s GooD Thrift & Vintage, though more businesses may join. Residents should visit Craig Street Corridor’s official social media accounts for updates.

Nearby restaurants such as Bao, Ali Baba, Crepes Parisiennes, Lucca Ristorante, and Union Grill offer convenient dining options after shopping.

The corridor also hosts a street market every third Thursday of the month. Dozens of artists, businesses, and vendors sell clothing, jewelry, posters, gadgets and more. Authorities close the Corridor to traffic during the market so pedestrians can browse freely.
Events like these aim to bring community members together and encourage investment in  Oakland’s unique culture. In 2023, Mollie Crowe, the marketing and communications manager of the Business Improvement District in Oakland, told Pittsburgh Magazine, “We’re really hoping to get people out in the open to discover all that Oakland has to offer.”
