According to the Countryside Police Department, the incident happened around 12 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, outside the TJ Maxx store. Authorities said an elderly woman was approached by two younger men who were soliciting donations for a family funeral.

Investigators believe the suspects then allegedly used the victim’s credit or debit card to make a significant fraudulent charge. Police said they have not been able to identify or locate the victim and are seeking assistance from the community.
