Providence, RI – Southern New England’s start to November looks more like late fall than early winter—but could that change before Thanksgiving? According to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC), residents in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island will likely see warmer, drier conditions dominate much of the month.

The CPC’s latest temperature outlook, issued October 24, 2025, calls for above-normal readings across the entire region, with only limited precipitation chances. That pattern reduces the odds of any early-season snow, even in inland Massachusetts.

Still, forecasters warn that late-November cold fronts can arrive quickly, bringing sudden bursts of chilly air just in time for the busy Thanksgiving travel week. If the timing lines up, a brief mix of rain and snow could clip higher elevations in central Massachusetts or northern Connecticut.

For now, though, winter appears to be hitting snooze in Southern New England—leaving most residents with clear roads, mild afternoons, and one extra reason to be thankful.
