Corpus Christi, TX – South Texas residents can expect a mostly dry stretch through Thursday before rain and thunderstorm chances rise sharply heading into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi.
Meteorologists say Friday and Saturday will trend on the wetter side, with the best rain chances — up to 90% — across the Coastal Plains and Victoria Crossroads. Scattered showers may begin late Friday, peaking Saturday afternoon and evening.
High temperatures will remain seasonably warm, ranging from the upper 80s to mid-90s through the week, with slightly cooler highs in the upper 70s to low 90s expected Saturday as cloud cover increases.
While no widespread severe weather is currently expected, localized downpours could impact travel along U.S. Highway 77 and coastal areas from Port Lavaca to Rockport. Forecasters recommend keeping an eye on updated radar forecasts, especially for those with weekend outdoor plans or beach trips.
Sunday brings a gradual drying trend, though isolated showers may linger with highs climbing back into the mid-80s to mid-90s. Sunshine is expected to return fully by Monday.
