Corpus Christi, Texas – A stretch of hot, humid weather will keep South Texas simmering this week, with spotty storms and dangerous rip currents adding to the risks. Highs will climb into the upper 90s and even touch 100 degrees inland through Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, isolated storms remain possible today across Brush Country and the Victoria Crossroads, while drier air holds back rain for some northern counties. Temperatures near Beeville and Tilden are forecast to reach the low to mid-90s, with Corpus Christi closer to 87. Tonight, lows drop into the upper 60s around Victoria and Beeville, with warmer 70s along the coast.
By Thursday, storm chances increase to 50% for the Coastal Plains, with scattered showers and thunderstorms stretching into the weekend. At the beaches, forecasters warn of a moderate rip current risk north of Port Aransas, urging swimmers to stay close to lifeguard stations.
Drivers may also face brief downpours and ponding on roadways during heavier storms. NWS reminds residents to avoid flooded streets and “turn around, don’t drown.”
Rain chances continue through Saturday, with another update expected midweek as stronger sea-breeze storms develop.
