Corpus Christi, Texas – South Texas is heating up quickly this week, with highs approaching 100°F and scattered thunderstorms threatening parts of the region by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, much of the region will see temperatures between 89°F and 101°F through Saturday, with southeast winds gusting up to 25 mph. Rain chances remain low today, ranging from 20% to 30%, but increase to as much as 50% by Wednesday.

Cities like Cotulla and Laredo could see highs near 99°F this afternoon, while Beeville, Victoria, and Tilden will climb into the low to mid-90s. Along the coast, slightly cooler conditions are expected, with Corpus Christi and Rockport topping out near 89–90°F. Overnight lows will stay warm, in the mid to upper 70s.

Residents should stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity during peak heat, and monitor for any thunderstorm development, especially on Wednesday and Thursday. While rainfall is not widespread, isolated storms could cause brief downpours and gusty winds.

The heat and humidity combination will keep heat index values elevated through the week. More updates are expected midweek as rain chances fluctuate and weekend heat intensifies.
