Corpus Christi, Texas – South Texans will battle another round of dangerous heat through midweek as temperatures soar into the triple digits, with only slight relief from isolated storms expected by the weekend. Afternoon highs from Victoria to Laredo could climb past 103 degrees Wednesday and Thursday, pushing heat index values to near 110.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, Wednesday and Thursday will bring the most intense heat, with limited chances of cooling rain. A shift arrives late Friday into the weekend as storm chances return, especially across the Coastal Bend and Brush Country. Rain coverage is expected at 20 to 40 percent Saturday, increasing to 40 to 50 percent by Sunday.

The prolonged heat will continue to stress power grids and pose risks for outdoor workers. Officials advise limiting time outside, drinking water frequently, and checking on vulnerable neighbors. Drivers should remain alert for brief, heavy downpours that could reduce visibility and cause slick roads this weekend.

Heat advisories may be extended through Thursday, with additional alerts possible if storms become stronger late in the week.
