Corpus Christi, TX – Residents across the Coastal Bend should prepare for a hot and dry week ahead, with temperatures climbing steadily toward the upper 90s by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, high pressure over northeastern Mexico will dominate the weather pattern, keeping skies mostly clear and rainfall chances near zero. Afternoon highs are forecast to range from 86 to 94 degrees on Sunday and Monday before rising into the upper 90s by Wednesday and Thursday. The week’s peak temperatures could reach 98 to 99 degrees, well above average for late September.

Lows will remain more seasonal, generally in the upper 60s to mid-70s, offering some overnight relief. Light east winds and partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies will persist throughout the period, making for stable—if hot—conditions.

Forecasters note that the lack of rainfall means dry soil and vegetation may add to heat stress concerns. Outdoor workers, students, and those planning beach trips along Padre Island are encouraged to stay hydrated, limit strenuous activity during peak afternoon heat, and keep an eye on children and pets.

The overall weather outlook calls for minimal precipitation, with only a 5 to 10 percent chance of stray showers early in the week. Beyond that, hot afternoons and dry skies will continue to dominate across Corpus Christi and surrounding counties.
