Corpus Christi, TX – Near 100-degree heat and rising humidity will grip South Texas this week, creating summer-like conditions that could impact outdoor plans and travel by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, highs will climb from the upper 80s and low 90s Monday into the upper 90s by Wednesday and Friday across the Coastal Bend, including Corpus Christi, Victoria, and Laredo. Overnight lows will remain mild, staying in the mid-60s to low 70s.

Rain chances remain limited early, but isolated showers begin Tuesday with a 15% chance near the coast. That increases to around 25% by Thursday as moisture builds, bringing brief downpours and lightning risks across South Texas highways including I-37 and U.S. 77.

The Climate Prediction Center outlook shows a 50–60% chance of above-normal rainfall into early April, signaling a shift toward a wetter pattern despite the early-week heat.

Residents should stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat, and monitor for developing storms later in the week. Additional updates are expected as rain chances increase.
