Corpus Christi, TX – South Texas will see a mild and mostly cloudy start to the week as cloud cover increases across the region Monday, keeping temperatures comfortably above seasonal overnight lows.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, Monday, December 15, will feature mostly cloudy conditions with light and variable winds. Overnight and early morning lows across the Corpus Christi area are expected to range from the upper 40s to near 50 degrees, including around 51 degrees in downtown Corpus Christi, 50 in Rockport, and 48 in Port Lavaca.

Despite the cloud cover, temperatures will rebound nicely during the day. Afternoon highs on Monday are expected to climb into the mid to upper 60s, with some inland locations approaching 70 degrees. The mild conditions mark the beginning of a gradual warming trend expected to continue through much of the week.

Forecasters say warmer air will build into South Texas through Wednesday and Thursday, with highs rising into the low to mid 70s Wednesday and potentially reaching the upper 70s to low 80s by Thursday. Humidity levels will also slowly increase, bringing a more spring-like feel to the afternoons.

Rain chances remain limited early in the week, though a slight chance of showers is possible Tuesday. A stronger cold front is forecast later in the week, though meteorologists caution it may stall before fully clearing South Texas on Friday, keeping temperatures relatively mild.

For Monday, travel conditions are expected to remain favorable, with no fog or hazardous weather concerns anticipated. Residents may notice cooler mornings, but overall conditions will feel comfortable for outdoor activities.

Corpus Christi residents are encouraged to enjoy the mild start to the week and stay updated on late-week changes as the next front approaches.
