Corpus Christi, TX – South Texans can expect continued summer-like warmth heading into the Columbus Day weekend, with limited rain and plenty of sunshine across the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, daytime highs will remain between 85 and 95 degrees through Monday, October 13, while overnight lows hover in the mid-60s to mid-70s. Thursday brings a 25% chance of showers along the coast, but drier air will dominate from Friday onward.
Forecasters note that “drier conditions take hold” beginning Thursday, with muggy and hot afternoons expected to persist into next week. The heat index could near 100°F inland, particularly around Alice, Beeville, and Freer, where moderate heat risk levels remain in effect.
By the weekend, cooler morning temperatures may offer slight relief, but daytime highs will stay steady in the upper 80s to mid-90s. Beachgoers can expect moderate rip current risk and wave heights of 2 to 4 feet, with UV levels remaining high under mostly clear skies.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks outdoors, and avoid peak afternoon heat through early next week.
