Corpus Christi, Texas – A stretch of mostly sunny and unseasonably warm weather is expected across the Coastal Bend this week, with daytime highs climbing into the upper 80s and near 90 degrees by late week.
According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, temperatures today will range from the low 70s to mid-80s, with light southerly winds increasing to 10–15 mph during the afternoon. Overnight conditions will remain mild, with lows settling into the upper 50s to mid-60s under partly to mostly cloudy skies.
The warming trend continues through midweek. Forecasts show highs of 77 to 85 degrees Wednesday, rising to 77 to 89 degrees Thursday, and reaching around 90 degrees Friday, particularly inland areas near Interstate 37, U.S. Highway 77, and State Highway 358. Coastal locations may remain slightly cooler due to onshore flow, but still well above seasonal averages.
Saturday brings a 25 percent chance of showers, though most areas are expected to remain dry. Even with limited rain chances, temperatures are forecast to stay warm, with highs in the upper 80s and continued mild overnight lows.
The NWS notes that the extended period of above-normal temperatures may increase heat exposure risks for those working outdoors, including construction crews, port workers, and road crews along major travel corridors. Drivers may also notice warmer-than-usual conditions during afternoon commutes, particularly on sun-exposed roadways.
Beach conditions remain generally favorable, with a low risk of rip currents, though swimmers are encouraged to remain cautious and monitor local advisories.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and check updated forecasts daily as conditions evolve through the week.
