Corpus Christi, Texas – Drivers along I-37 and South Padre Island Drive will face building heat and breezy onshore winds through Tuesday afternoon as temperatures surge into the lower 90s, increasing the risk of vehicle overheating and elevated fire danger inland.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, highs will range from 79 to 93 degrees Tuesday, with steady southeast winds around 10 to 15 mph. The warm, dry pattern will persist through midweek, with afternoon temperatures climbing as high as 95 degrees by Thursday and Friday across the Coastal Bend.

Across South Texas, communities from Alice to Beeville and inland toward Cotulla will experience the hottest readings. Laredo could top 90 degrees, while Victoria and Rockport hold in the upper 80s to near 90. The combination of above-normal heat and periodic gusts may create choppy bay waters and minor travel impacts for high-profile vehicles on exposed roadways like US-181.

Rain chances remain limited through midweek, generally near 20 percent by Wednesday. However, moisture increases heading into the weekend. By Saturday, rain probabilities rise to 55 percent, signaling a shift toward more unsettled conditions that could bring brief downpours and lightning.

Beach conditions remain relatively calm with a low risk of rip currents, but swimmers should continue monitoring local advisories. UV levels will stay elevated during peak afternoon hours.

Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, and check tire pressure before long drives. Keep pets and children out of parked vehicles as interior temperatures can spike within minutes.

Warmer-than-average temperatures are expected to hold through Friday, with increasing rain chances by Saturday evening. Additional updates may be issued as weekend rain coverage becomes clearer.
