CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Summerlike warmth will grip South Texas through the weekend, pushing temperatures into the 90s before a sharp cool-down arrives early next week. The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi says highs Thursday through Saturday will soar between 88 and 94 degrees inland, with coastal readings near 90. Humidity levels will remain moderate, allowing for pleasant beach conditions but a heightened UV risk.
According to the Weather Service, southerly winds around 10 to 15 mph will continue through Saturday, keeping overnight lows mild—mostly in the 60s. A weak front is expected to sweep through late Sunday, ushering in a notable change. Behind it, cooler and drier air will drop Monday’s highs into the mid-60s to low 70s with overnight lows in the 40s along the Coastal Bend.
Beachgoers can expect low rip current risk through the weekend, with water temperatures holding in the upper 70s. The agency advises sun protection and hydration during outdoor activities as UV levels remain high. The change early next week will feel distinctly fall-like after several unseasonably warm days.
Drivers and event organizers should prepare for breezy conditions Sunday evening as the front passes. The brief cool spell looks to linger into midweek before temperatures gradually rebound.
