Corpus Christi, Texas – A stretch of mild and dry weather is expected to continue across the Corpus Christi area through the weekend, with warmer temperatures returning before rain chances increase early next week, according to the National Weather Service Corpus Christi.

Forecasters say high temperatures will range from the upper 60s to upper 70s through the weekend, while overnight lows remain in the 40s and 50s, providing comfortable conditions for mid-January. Friday is expected to be the warmest day, with highs forecast between 73 and 78 degrees, followed by slightly cooler but still mild conditions Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday and Sunday highs are expected to range from 59 to 64 degrees, with overnight lows dropping into the lower 30s to low 40s inland, and 40s to near 50 degrees closer to the coast. No hazardous cold conditions are anticipated.

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, temperatures are expected to rebound slightly, with highs ranging from 67 to 73 degrees and lows between 47 and 57 degrees, continuing the trend of seasonably mild weather.

Rain chances return early next week as a weak weather system approaches the region. The National Weather Service forecasts a 25 to 40 percent chance of showers by Tuesday, with daytime highs between 58 and 64 degrees. Rainfall amounts are expected to be light at this time.
