Corpus Christi, TX – Beachgoers in Corpus Christi are advised to exercise caution today as a high risk of rip currents is expected along Gulf-facing beaches. The National Weather Service has issued a warning for dangerous swimming conditions, particularly near piers and jetties, where the risk is highest. Rip currents can pull even the strongest swimmers away from shore. Swimmers are urged to heed the advice of lifeguards and remain vigilant.
Today’s high temperatures will reach the lower 80s, with partly cloudy skies and strong easterly winds at 14 to 18 mph, gusting up to 24 mph. The water temperature is in the upper 70s, and wave heights will range between 5 and 6 feet. The UV index is high, making sunscreen necessary for beach visitors. High tides are expected at 9:13 p.m. at Bob Hall Pier and 9:00 p.m. at Port Aransas.
According to the National Weather Service, a Coastal Flood Advisory is also in effect until Tuesday morning, as minor coastal flooding may occur during high tides. Beachgoers should remain weather-aware and cautious of rapidly changing conditions. The forecast for the week includes mostly sunny skies with highs in the low to mid-80s, making it a pleasant time for outdoor activities, despite the elevated rip current risk.
