Corpus Christi, Texas — Near-normal temperatures are expected across the Coastal Bend on Friday, with afternoon highs climbing into the mid-70s as a warming trend begins heading into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, Friday will feature mostly sunny skies with light and variable winds. High temperatures are forecast to range from about 72 degrees inland near Freer and Alice to around 75 to 76 degrees along the coast, including downtown Corpus Christi and Rockport.
Forecasters said the warming trend will strengthen beginning Saturday and continue through early next week. Weekend highs are expected to rise into the upper 70s and lower 80s, with overnight lows remaining mild, generally in the upper 50s to mid-60s.
By early next week, temperatures could reach the mid-80s across portions of South Texas. Tuesday and Wednesday highs are forecast between 82 and 85 degrees, well above normal for late December. Rain chances are expected to remain minimal through at least midweek, continuing a dry weather pattern across the region.
The National Weather Service noted that conditions will be favorable for outdoor activities, with no significant weather hazards anticipated. Winds are expected to stay light, and humidity levels will remain comfortable compared to summertime conditions.
Along area beaches, the risk of rip currents remains low, and marine conditions are expected to be relatively calm. Small craft operators are advised to continue monitoring forecasts but should encounter generally favorable boating conditions.
Commuters, outdoor workers, and holiday travelers may notice gradually warmer mornings and afternoons as the weekend approaches, especially compared to recent cooler days.
