Corpus Christi, TX – Scattered thunderstorms and dangerous heat are set to impact much of South Texas through early next week, especially across the Victoria Crossroads and Coastal Plains.
According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, low to medium rain chances will persist through Monday, with the highest coverage expected Thursday and Sunday. Areas like Victoria, Beeville, and Rockport may see a 20–45% chance of thunderstorms, while inland areas like Alice and Tilden remain hot and mostly dry. Daytime highs are projected between 88°F and 100°F, with overnight lows in the upper 70s.
Localized downpours may briefly reduce visibility on roads like US-77 and US-59, particularly during afternoon hours. While no widespread flooding is expected, isolated storms could cause minor street flooding and lightning hazards. SE winds of 10–20 mph will accompany the pattern, bringing humid and unstable air off the Gulf.
Beachgoers should be cautious despite low rip current risk, as lightning could develop quickly. UV levels remain extreme along the Texas coast.
The chance of rain drops slightly by Monday, but heat indices may exceed 105°F in some areas. More rain chances could return midweek.
