Corpus Christi, Texas – South Texas residents face another round of sweltering conditions Wednesday with temperatures running slightly above normal and heat indices climbing between 100 and 105 degrees. The National Weather Service warns the combination of heat and humidity could impact outdoor activity, especially for athletes and field workers.

According to the NWS Corpus Christi office, isolated storms may develop near Baffin Bay with a 20 to 30 percent chance of rain. Broader shower chances arrive Thursday into Friday, with scattered coverage across the Coastal Plains. Despite the storm potential, most areas will stay hot and humid, with highs ranging from 88 degrees along the coast to near 100 inland.

Cities like Beeville, Alice, and Tilden are expected to see mid to upper 90s, while Laredo may reach 98 degrees. Coastal communities, including Corpus Christi and Rockport, will remain slightly cooler in the upper 80s but with high humidity levels.

Residents are urged to drink water frequently, take breaks in shaded areas, and limit strenuous activity during peak afternoon hours. With fall sports underway, coaches are advised to schedule frequent water breaks to prevent heat-related illness.

Conditions are expected to remain hot with periodic rain chances through early next week.
