Corpus Christi, TX – A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for much of South Texas, including Corpus Christi and Victoria, from 6 p.m. Monday through 6 p.m. Tuesday. Heavy mixed precipitation, including snow, sleet, and ice, is expected to impact travel and daily activities.

According to the National Weather Service, accumulations could reach up to one inch of snow and sleet, with ice buildup as thick as one-tenth of an inch. Wind gusts of up to 40 mph will further complicate outdoor conditions, increasing the risk of power outages and wind chills.

Counties affected include Bee, Goliad, Victoria, Webb, and several coastal and inland areas from Kleberg to Calhoun. Roads, bridges, and overpasses are likely to become slick and hazardous, particularly in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Residents are advised to stay indoors, dress in warm layers, and avoid travel if possible. If driving is necessary, extreme caution is urged due to icy road conditions and reduced visibility. Motorists should ensure vehicles are winterized and maintain safe distances on the roads.

The warning underscores the rare but significant impact of winter weather on South Texas. Prepare for disruptions and plan accordingly through Tuesday evening.
