Corpus Christi, Texas – South Texans are staring down another brutal stretch of heat this week, with highs soaring to 105°F inland and barely dipping below 90°F along the coast. The National Weather Service warns the extreme heat will persist through Sunday, with little rain in sight and heat indices pushing well above 110°F for some communities.
According to the NWS office in Corpus Christi, daily high temperatures will range from 90°F to 105°F through Sunday, with the warmest conditions expected Thursday and Friday. Rain chances remain low—between 10% and 35%—leaving much of the region parched under intense sun.
Cities like Alice, Beeville, and Kingsville can expect several consecutive days of triple-digit heat, while coastal spots like Rockport and Port Aransas remain slightly cooler but still humid and oppressive. Overnight lows in the upper 70s to low 80s offer little relief, especially for those without air conditioning.
Officials urge residents to limit outdoor activity during peak hours, stay hydrated, and check on elderly neighbors and pets. Power usage may spike, and heat-related illnesses are a growing concern.
This heat stretch is expected to last through at least Sunday, with only isolated showers offering brief relief. Heat advisories may expand if conditions worsen midweek.
