Corpus Christi, Texas – Labor Day heat and humidity are intensifying across South Texas, with temperatures soaring into the triple digits and storms lingering through Tuesday. Scattered showers may disrupt outdoor plans from Laredo to Victoria, while heat index values climb to 110°F in inland areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, Tuesday’s storm chances sit between 20% and 30%, with isolated downpours possible along I-37 and Highway 77. Temperatures across the region range from 89°F in Corpus Christi to 98°F in Laredo, with high humidity creating dangerous heat stress conditions.

By Wednesday, storm chances drop significantly, but the heat remains. Highs between 102°F and 103°F will stretch from Alice to Beeville, with overnight lows offering little relief—staying in the mid to upper 70s. Winds from the northeast at 5–15 mph will do little to cool things down.

Those headed to the coast should be mindful of low rip current risks and 1–2 foot wave heights. However, water temps remain near 88°F, increasing heat exhaustion risk for beachgoers. Limit strenuous activity outdoors, drink water frequently, and take breaks in the shade or indoors.

Excessive heat warnings could be issued later this week if conditions intensify.
