CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – South Texas can expect a warmer and slightly wetter pattern heading into mid to late December, according to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi.

Between December 16–22, temperatures are projected to run above normal, with highs in the mid-60s to upper 70s and lows in the upper 40s to low 50s. The Climate Prediction Center notes that much of Texas will experience “favorably warmer than normal” temperatures during this stretch.

Rainfall chances are also leaning slightly above average, with Corpus Christi normally receiving 0.46 inches, Victoria 0.51 inches, and Laredo 0.29 inches for this period. Light to moderate showers could return at times as Gulf moisture increases, but no major storm systems are currently expected.

According to the weather service, seasonal warmth and scattered rain chances will continue until a potential cold front moves through the region late next weekend or early the following week.

Residents can expect pleasant outdoor conditions through most of next week, though occasional humidity and patchy fog may develop during overnight hours.
