Corpus Christi, TX – The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory through 4 a.m. Sunday, warning that elevated tides and increased wave activity could cause minor coastal flooding along portions of the Texas coast tonight.

According to the weather service, above-normal tides combined with long swell periods and wind-driven waves will raise water levels around times of high tide Saturday night into early Sunday morning. The advisory affects Aransas, Kleberg, Nueces, and Calhoun Islands, where localized flooding and erosion are possible.

Forecasters say inundation up to one foot may occur in low-lying areas, with beach roads potentially covered by water during peak tide cycles. Coastal residents and visitors are urged to use caution and avoid driving through flooded roads.

Additional impacts may include minor beach erosion, coastal inundation, and a moderate risk of rip currents through early Sunday. Conditions should improve after the morning high tide cycle subsides.
