Boswell deployed the Taser, subduing Mathews long enough to place him in handcuffs, the department reported. No additional force was required, and the arrest was completed without further incident.
The sheriff’s office stated that Mathews was medically evaluated following the Taser deployment, which is standard procedure. After being cleared, he was transported to the Coos County Jail.
