Myrtle Point, OR – A trespass investigation in Myrtle Point on Friday led to the arrest of two individuals after a deputy returned to a rural property and encountered a man who allegedly fled the scene.

According to the Coos County Sheriffโ€™s Office, the incident unfolded around 12:35 p.m. Friday along Middle Creek Road, where a deputy had been investigating a reported trespass involving subjects who had allegedly left after being warned. When the deputy returned, a motorhome remained on the property, and a man allegedly spoke briefly with the deputy before running away.

Authorities said the man had previously identified himself under a different name. During the investigation, deputies allegedly determined the individual was actually Loy Minton, who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Officials said Minton allegedly provided false information during the encounter.

A second individual at the scene was identified as Kasie R. Jenkins. Both Minton and Jenkins were taken into custody and transported to the Coos County Jail.

Jenkins, 48, was arrested on charges of criminal trespass and unlawful possession of methamphetamine, authorities said. Minton, 42, was arrested on allegations of criminal trespass, the outstanding warrant, and allegedly providing false information to a police officer.

The sheriffโ€™s office noted that all charges are allegations, and both individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details have been released at this time.
