Coos County, OR – Two people were arrested Tuesday morning after deputies responded to an alleged kidnapping and assault just outside Bandon, according to the Coos County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Churchill and Officer Mastrangelo from the Bandon Police Department were dispatched around 8 a.m. on October 28 to Southern Coos General Hospital, following reports of a woman who had been assaulted.
According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation determined that the woman had been taken against her will to a residence outside Bandon by Mark Hendrix and Ishta Gore. Once there, the suspects allegedly took away her phone, stopped her from leaving, and assaulted her.
Deputy Churchill arrested both Hendrix and Gore for Kidnapping in the First Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, Menacing, and Harassment. Gore also faces an additional charge of Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Both suspects were transported to the Coos County Jail, where they were booked and lodged.
Authorities emphasized that all charges remain allegations.
“Police action is not indicative of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,” the sheriff’s office stated in its release.
