Cooler Temps in Memphis Today, Heatwave Returns Midweek

Memphis, TN – Much more tolerable conditions are forecast for today with afternoon highs ranging from the low 80s to low 90s, providing a brief respite before a significant heatwave. According to the US National Weather Service in Memphis, today’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and a pleasant high of 86°F, offering residents an opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities comfortably.

As the week progresses, temperatures are set to climb dramatically. On Tuesday, highs will reach around 95°F under sunny skies. The heat will intensify on Wednesday with temperatures soaring to 98°F. By Thursday, Independence Day, residents can expect a high of 96°F, making it crucial to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions during celebrations.

Friday brings a slight relief with a high of 89°F and a 45% chance of scattered thunderstorms, potentially cooling the region. Saturday’s forecast indicates continued showers with a 40% chance of rain and a high of 88°F, suggesting a more temperate weekend ahead.

The National Weather Service advises residents to stay informed about the weather changes, particularly during the peak heat midweek, and to plan outdoor activities accordingly.
