St. Louis, Missouri –Missourians weary of sweltering heat and thick humidity can expect a refreshing change starting Tuesday as drier, cooler air moves in behind a cold front.
According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, temperatures will settle into the mid to upper 80s Tuesday and Wednesday, with overnight lows dipping into the 60s. Light winds and reduced humidity will make for more comfortable days, particularly after last week’s oppressive conditions.
St. Louis, Columbia, and Cape Girardeau will feel the relief most noticeably during the early morning and late evening hours, when dew points drop and cooler breezes filter in. Rural areas across Franklin, Boone, and Jefferson counties may see the coolest lows, approaching the lower 60s.
While no hazardous weather is expected, residents are encouraged to stay hydrated and continue monitoring local forecasts as summer heat is likely to return by the weekend.
This cooler, drier pattern is expected to hold through Wednesday before temperatures and humidity climb again.
