Cook County, IL – Thirteen men were arrested during a covert “John” sting operation targeting individuals accused of soliciting prostitution in Cook County’s western suburbs.

According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, the operation was carried out by the Sheriff’s Police Special Victim’s Division Investigators and resulted in each suspect receiving a $1,000 Cook County ordinance violation. Authorities said the men’s vehicles were also towed as part of the enforcement action.

Officials said this sting is part of a broader effort aimed at curbing human and sex trafficking in the region. Since 2022, the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department has arrested and fined more than 400 individuals in similar operations. Sheriff’s officials said these efforts are designed to reduce demand for illegal sex trade and to address its impact on vulnerable communities.

Law enforcement emphasized that targeting individuals who allegedly solicit prostitution is a key component of their strategy to combat trafficking networks. The Sheriff’s Office has pledged continued enforcement in suburban communities across the county.

The Sheriff’s Office urged the public to report suspected trafficking or related crimes and said further operations are expected in the coming months.
