Cook County, IL – A Chicago man is facing armed violence and multiple drug delivery charges after investigators with the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Organized Crime Unit allegedly found him with a firearm and narcotics, officials announced Friday.

According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, investigators began their probe after receiving information that 29-year-old Jorge Rojas-Cardoso was allegedly selling cocaine on Chicago’s South Side. On Nov. 12, detectives arrested Rojas-Cardoso after he allegedly sold cocaine to an undercover officer.

During a search, investigators reportedly discovered a loaded gun and about 130 grams of cocaine. A warrant executed at his residence in the 6900 block of South Talman Avenue led to the recovery of an additional 380 grams of cannabis, 255 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and 73 rounds of ammunition, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office later approved multiple felony charges. Rojas-Cardoso was ordered to the Chief Judge’s Pretrial Electronic Monitoring program following his initial court appearance at the George N. Leighton Criminal Courthouse.
