According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, Organized Crime investigators executed a search warrant Wednesday, January 7, at a residence in the 1400 block of Deer Creek Lane in Ford Heights after an investigation into alleged drug sales at the location.
During the search, investigators recovered six firearms, including a ghost gun, along with two bows, a crossbow, and arrows. Authorities also seized three knives and a machete. In addition, police reported finding approximately 32.5 grams of crack cocaine, three lorazepam pills, and more than $6,700 in cash inside the home.
Eighteen dogs were also recovered during the operation and were turned over to Cook County Animal Control for care and evaluation.
Sheriff’s Police took Jason Thomas, 49, and Jermaine Thomas, 49, into custody at the scene. Authorities said neither man possessed a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card or a concealed carry license.
On Thursday, January 8, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Jason Thomas with manufacturing and delivery of cocaine, possession of cocaine, and being a felon in possession of a weapon. Jermaine Thomas was charged with four counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon.
Both men appeared in court Friday, January 9, at the Markham Courthouse and were ordered held in custody at the Cook County Jail.
