Homewood, IL – A Wednesday afternoon investigation into a suspicious vehicle on Halsted Street led to the discovery of pills, loaded handguns and nine baby bottles filled with suspected narcotics, according to the Homewood Police Department.

According to police, tactical officers approached the vehicle around 4 p.m. on December 10 in the 18600 block of Halsted Street. Investigators allegedly spotted a clear bag containing a large quantity of pills next to the driver, identified as Cortney Davis. A second bag of pills and the handle of a handgun were reportedly found on the lap of passenger Kameron Williams. A third occupant, Grant Crosby, was removed from the vehicle before officers conducted a full search.

Police say the search uncovered 188 pills of suspected Alprazolam, two loaded handguns and nine baby bottles containing suspected narcotics, which will be tested at a later date. Officials noted that while unusual hiding places are often encountered in narcotics investigations, this was the first recent case involving baby bottles being repurposed for drug concealment.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved multiple charges following the recovery. Davis, 19, of Harvey, allegedly faces Class X felony armed violence charges and a misdemeanor count for possessing a firearm with no serial number. Williams, 21, of Dolton, also allegedly faces a Class X felony armed violence charge. Crosby, 20, of Homewood, was charged with speeding on a warrant and Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance.

Police emphasized that charges represent accusations, and all individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
