Tinley Park, IL – An 18-year-old Frankfort man is facing a Class X felony charge following an alleged aggravated criminal sexual assault that investigators say occurred during a summer concert at Credit Union One Amphitheatre.

According to the Tinley Park Police Department, Roman Basso, 18, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault causing bodily harm stemming from an incident reported on July 22. Police say the investigation began two days later after hospital staff in Ohio contacted authorities regarding the alleged assault.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage provided by Live Nation, collected witness statements, and conducted a forensic interview that police say supported the victim’s account. Additional evidence was gathered with assistance from the Indian Hill Police Department in Ohio.

Police said detectives were able to confirm Basso’s identity and learned he was enrolled at Arizona State University. Tinley Park detectives coordinated with Arizona State University police, which ultimately helped locate Basso.

Basso was taken into custody in Frankfort on January 6. According to police, while in custody, he made a post-Miranda confession. He is scheduled to appear for a detention hearing at the Bridgeview Courthouse on Wednesday, January 7.

The Tinley Park Police Department credited multiple agencies for their assistance in the investigation, including Indian Hill Police, Arizona State University Police, and the Illinois Secretary of State Police. Authorities said the inter-agency cooperation was instrumental in advancing the case and approving felony charges.

Police emphasized that all suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

The case remains under review as it proceeds through the Cook County court system.
