Bridgeport, CT – A colder and unsettled weather pattern is taking shape across Connecticut from Nov. 29th through Dec. 5th, bringing statewide chances for cold rain, mixed precipitation, and early-season snow as winter conditions begin to expand.

According to NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, temperatures throughout this period are expected to run below normal statewide, including coastal cities like Bridgeport and New Haven, inland areas such as Waterbury and Hartford, and the higher elevations of Litchfield County. Overnight lows may fall near or below freezing in interior regions, increasing the potential for snow or sleet when storm systems move through.

NOAA’s precipitation outlook also shows a strong signal for above-normal precipitation across Connecticut, suggesting several disturbances may pass through the region during the first week of December. Bridgeport and the shoreline are most likely to see cold rain, though brief periods of mixing could occur during colder nighttime hours.

Interior and elevated parts of the state — including Hartford County, Tolland County, and the Litchfield Hills — carry the highest likelihood of seeing a rain–snow mix or accumulating wet snow, especially for morning commutes and overnight periods.

Forecasters emphasize that this is not a single large winter storm but a multi-system pattern capable of producing slick roads, reduced visibility, and spotty travel delays, particularly along I-84, Route 8, and the I-91 corridor.

As December begins, residents across Connecticut should monitor daily forecast updates and be prepared for shifting rain–snow lines across the state.
