Hartford, Connecticut – Easter Sunday plans across Connecticut could be disrupted within hours as steady rain spreads statewide, creating slick roads and reduced visibility during peak holiday travel.

According to the National Weather Service, an active pattern will bring above-normal precipitation and warmer-than-average temperatures across the Northeast through Wednesday night. Rainfall totals between 1 and 2 inches are expected, with the heaviest rain falling Sunday morning between 5 a.m. and noon.

Major routes including I-91, I-84, and I-95 may see ponding water and slower traffic as families head to Easter services and gatherings. Visibility could drop below one mile in heavier downpours, especially along the coastal corridor from Stamford to New London.

In cities like New Haven, Bridgeport, and Waterbury, steady rain will make outdoor egg hunts difficult, with many events likely moving indoors. The warmer air mass will keep temperatures above seasonal averages, eliminating any wintry risk but adding to the damp, humid feel.

Travelers using Bradley International Airport and regional rail lines may also encounter delays tied to persistent rain and low cloud ceilings.

Rain chances remain elevated through midweek, and additional rounds of showers could continue to impact travel and outdoor plans across the state.
