East Lyme, CT – A police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle on Interstate 95 ended Wednesday night in East Lyme when Connecticut State Police and a K9 unit apprehended two suspects after they allegedly fled on foot.

According to Connecticut State Police Troop E, the chase began around 7:40 p.m. after Groton Police reported that a stolen vehicle had rammed into police cruisers in Groton. Multiple agencies, including Troop E and K9 Zedo, joined the pursuit.

The pursuit came to a halt when the stolen vehicle became disabled on I-95 southbound before Exit 74. Authorities said three suspects exited the vehicle and ran across the northbound lanes. One individual was quickly caught by officers at the scene.

Police reported that K9 Zedo was deployed and tracked the alleged driver approximately 200 yards across a brook and through dense woods to a set of power lines. The K9 continued searching until locating the suspect in a thick brush area. After repeated warnings, the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident.

Authorities said a secondary track was conducted for the third suspect, but the individual was not located.

No injuries to officers, suspects, or K9 Zedo were reported. Connecticut State Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed in connection with the alleged vehicle theft and pursuit.
