Hartford, CT – Connecticut State Police have increased patrols around synagogues, Jewish community centers, and public venues following reports of a major incident in Great Manchester, UK, early Thursday.
According to Connecticut State Police, while there is currently no indication of increased threats in Connecticut, officials are deploying additional resources as a precaution. The move comes during the Jewish High Holy Days, a period already marked by heightened security operations across the state.
The agency’s Intelligence Operations Unit is actively reviewing details from the UK incident to determine any potential local impact. “We ask that the public always remain vigilant and report all instances of hate crimes and hate incidents to their local Police Department or State Police Barracks,” officials said.
The Connecticut State Police Hate Crimes Investigative Unit is also working with local law enforcement agencies to ensure safe communities statewide.
Emergency calls should be directed to 911. Non-emergency reports of hate crimes or threats can be submitted through local police departments, state barracks, or by email to hate.crimes@ct.gov.
Authorities emphasized the importance of community awareness and unity. “Together, we can stand united against hate and protect the values of respect, inclusion, and justice for everyone,” the agency said.
