Albany, NY – A Frost Advisory has been issued for parts of eastern New York and northwestern Connecticut from 10 p.m. Friday through 9 a.m. Saturday, marking the coldest stretch of the season so far.
According to the National Weather Service in Albany, temperatures could fall as low as 32 degrees, leading to frost formation across Litchfield County, CT, and areas of the Capital District, Mid-Hudson Valley, and southern Taconics in New York.
The advisory covers cities including Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Kingston, Poughkeepsie, and Torrington. Officials warn that sensitive outdoor vegetation may be damaged or killed if left unprotected. Residents are encouraged to cover tender plants or bring them indoors before nightfall.
The chill comes after a mild week of fall weather, signaling a shift toward colder overnight lows across the Northeast. Meteorologists expect temperatures to rebound by Sunday, but another round of frost could develop early next week if calm and clear conditions persist.
