New York, NY – The National Weather Service in New York continues a Frost Advisory until 9 a.m. Tuesday for parts of Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York, as early morning temperatures dip into the mid-30s.

The advisory includes Northern Fairfield, Northern New Haven, Northern Middlesex, and Northern New London counties in Connecticut; Western Passaic and Western Bergen counties in New Jersey; and Rockland and Northern Westchester counties in New York.

According to the NWS, temperatures between 33°F and 36°F will lead to frost formation, which may harm or kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if not protected. Residents are urged to cover tender plants, bring potted plants indoors, and avoid early watering, which can worsen frost damage.

The cold air is expected to lift by mid-morning as sunshine returns and temperatures rise into the upper 50s. Another round of cold weather is possible later this week as high pressure settles over the region.
