Boston, MA – Fire danger will be elevated across Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island on Saturday due to gusty winds and dry conditions. The National Weather Service in Boston has issued a special weather statement warning of increased fire spread potential from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, relative humidity levels will drop to around 30 percent, while northwest winds could gust between 30 to 40 mph. These conditions heighten the risk for rapid fire spread, especially in areas with dry vegetation.

Residents across the region, including Hartford, Worcester, Boston, and Providence, are urged to use caution with potential ignition sources such as cigarettes, matches, and machinery. Any fires that ignite may spread quickly under these conditions.

The forecast was developed in coordination with fire and land management officials from Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, considering meteorological, fuel, and land conditions. While no burn bans have been issued, authorities emphasize vigilance and responsible fire safety practices.

For updates and safety tips, residents should monitor local emergency management resources and the National Weather Service alerts.
