Columbus, OH – Residents in Columbus can expect cooler temperatures today, following the passage of a cold front. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Wilmington reports that high pressure moving into the region will bring a brief respite from recent heat.

According to the NWS, temperatures will remain in the low to mid-80s throughout the day, with skies predominantly clear but with some scattered cloud cover. The maximum heat index forecast for Columbus will be around 84°F by noon and is expected to remain steady through the afternoon.

The cooler weather is a temporary change, as thunderstorms are forecasted to return to the region on Tuesday and Wednesday. The storm system is likely to bring increased cloud cover and a 55% chance of rain on Wednesday. The rest of the week will see varied weather, with sunny skies on Thursday, highs reaching 86°F on Friday, and another round of thunderstorms expected on Saturday.

Residents are advised to enjoy the relatively cooler conditions today while preparing for potential storms midweek. Stay updated with the latest weather alerts from the NWS and take necessary precautions as the weather shifts.
