Columbus, Ohio – Dry skies and mild temperatures will hold across Ohio through Monday, but showers are set to move back into the region by midweek. Highs today and Monday will range from the upper 70s to lower 80s, keeping conditions seasonable to slightly warm for late August.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a few isolated showers may develop Tuesday, with greater rain chances Wednesday and Thursday. The pattern shift is expected to bring scattered downpours across central and southern Ohio, potentially impacting morning and evening commutes.
Cincinnati and Dayton will warm into the lower 80s by Monday afternoon, while Columbus and Chillicothe should see highs near 80. Southern communities such as Portsmouth and Maysville may climb into the mid-80s before storms roll through midweek. The return of unsettled weather could slow road travel and create slick conditions, especially during heavier bursts of rain.
Residents are advised to take advantage of the dry start to the week for outdoor plans, but prepare for wet weather and possible delays Wednesday into Thursday. Additional advisories could be issued if rainfall becomes more widespread.
