Ohio – Headlights glow through thick gray fog across central Ohio this morning, with visibility dropping along parts of I-70, I-71, and the outerbelt around Columbus. Damp pavement and mist are creating a slow start for drivers heading into the city.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. for much of central Ohio. Visibility in some areas may drop below a quarter mile, especially near rivers, low-lying farmland, and suburban roadways.
Drivers across Franklin, Delaware, and Fairfield counties should allow extra time this morning. Sudden visibility drops can occur along I-270, Route 315, and U.S. 23, particularly near interchanges and overpasses. Use low-beam headlights and increase following distance.
Once fog lifts, temperatures surge toward 75°F today, creating an unusually warm feel for early March. A few scattered showers or thunderstorms may develop later this afternoon, though many areas remain partly sunny for several hours.
More active weather arrives Saturday. Showers become widespread by afternoon, and a few thunderstorms may develop as warmer air continues to stream north. Temperatures reach the mid-70s again, keeping conditions mild and humid.
Rain becomes more persistent Saturday night before gradually tapering Sunday morning. By afternoon, sunshine returns and temperatures settle near 60°F, offering a cooler but pleasant end to the weekend.
Early Sunday morning also brings the seasonal time shift. Clocks spring forward at 2 a.m., giving Ohio longer daylight evenings.
Warmer spring weather returns early next week. Monday turns sunny with highs near 71°F, and mild temperatures continue through midweek as an active March pattern persists.
