Wilmington, OH – After a frosty start to the week, Ohioans can look forward to a warmer stretch heading into the weekend. According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, temperatures across much of southern and central Ohio will rise to above-normal levels by Friday and Saturday following several mornings of subfreezing lows.

Forecast charts show lows in the 20s and low 30s through Wednesday before a gradual climb begins Thursday. Afternoon highs are expected to reach the upper 50s by Friday and Saturday, marking a noticeable turnaround from the cold start.

“Cold to start the week, but a warming trend is on the way,” the weather service posted early Tuesday, noting that milder air will spread in from the southwest late in the week.

By the weekend, much of Ohio should see daytime highs in the mid-to-upper 50s, possibly touching 60°F in southern counties if sunshine holds. Overnight lows will also moderate, helping to ease the early morning frost risk for travelers and farmers.

Looking ahead, cooler air could return by early next week, but forecasters say the pattern favors above-average temperatures into the weekend.

Residents are advised to prepare for cold mornings through midweek, especially with wind chills near the 20s in rural areas before the warm-up takes hold.
